If Western Drugs are so good, where are the Healthy Takers (Extract from

[I fully agreed to what Mr Mike Adams of NewsTarget said and I would like to share with everyone, on this topic]

When observing the state of modern medicine and the unprecedented influence of pharmaceuticals, an interesting paradox arises. The drug companies claim that pharmaceuticals can do wonders for people: lower their cholesterol, end clinical depression, reverse osteoporosis, eliminate allergies, calm your children and many other similar promises. But if prescription drugs are so good for people, where are all the healthy medicated customers?

There aren't any to speak of. There's nobody taking twelve prescriptions who has a clean bill of health. In fact, the more prescriptions a person takes, the worse their overall health. And if you approach the healthiest people you can find in a local fitness center and ask what prescription drugs they're taking in order to be so healthy, they'll give you a rather confused look: they don't take prescription drugs !

So how is it that the pharmaceutical industry can be claiming to make people healthier in the first place? And what happened to common sense here? A rigorous scientific view of the whole situation can only conclude that prescription drugs are, in fact, making people sicker. It's like a massive clinical trial, and the results of the trial are rather obvious: we're swallowing more drugs than ever, and we're getting sicker. In fact, the more drugs a person takes, and the longer they take them, the more rapidly their overall health deteriorates.

So why are drugs approved in the first place ?

During development, prescription drugs are designed to target a single measurable marker, such as cholesterol levels or bone density. There are thousands of such markers to target in the world of modern medicine, and if a specific drug can alter any measurable marker in a positive direction -- without killing too many people during the clinical trials -- the FDA eventually declares it to be "safe and effective" and the drug is unleashed for public consumption.

Indeed, the drug may effectively impact that one marker. But here's where the problem starts: every drug has a systemic effect, and these systemic effects are not accurately measured (or admitted) in clinical trials. For example, statin drugs do, in fact, lower bad cholesterol levels. But they do this by compromising the ability of the liver to create all types of cholesterol, including the "good" cholesterol and important hormones that the body manufactures from cholesterol. Statins may have one measurable, positive effect according to the medical charts, but they simultaneously throw off the body's healthy physiology in a hundred other ways such as blocking your sex drive.

Clinical trials don't pay much attention to these other effects; they're just looking to prove one particular thing and get FDA approval to market the drug as a miracle cholesterol fighter. What other effects the drug has on the human body are largely ignored. And when clinical trial participants start showing these severe effects, they are typically "dismissed" from the trial in order to ensure that trial results look positive. In this way, extremely toxic drugs are actually approved by the FDA as "safe."

Prescription drugs represent a war on the American people

This situation means that, right now, prescription drugs are killing 100,000 Americans each year and injuring more than two million. Those are the statistics from the Journal of the American Medical Association, and that figure doesn't include the 40,000 or so who are killed each year by over-the-counter pain medications. These are staggering figures: it's like having twenty-five 9/11 attacks each year, but instead of terrorists flying the airplanes, it's pharmaceutical company CEOs. There are more deaths and injuries caused each year by pharmaceuticals than in any U.S. war or conflict since World War II.

And yet pharmaceuticals continue to be marketed as miracle drugs that can help people be healthy. But as I've mentioned, there are no extremely healthy people taking lots of prescription drugs !

The counter argument

The obvious counter to this argument is that people only start taking prescription drugs after they're already sick. But that's not true: statins are now being pushed onto perfectly healthy people who have cholesterol levels of 115, for example. They're supposed to start taking statins as a preventative measure, even though there's nothing wrong with them. With a similar lack of wisdom, the American Diabetes Association has recommended that all diabetics start taking statin drugs even though there is no scientifically proven benefit to doing so just in case some benefits are someday discovered !

And statin drugs are already known to cause an alarming number of dangerous side effects. After being consumed for just a few days, statin drugs start interfering with normal liver function. Within a matter of weeks or months, the patient often shows new symptoms or disorders. Upon visiting a western medical doctor, they are diagnosed with another disease or condition and -- guess what? -- given another prescription drug to take in combination with the statins. In the business world, this is called "upselling the customer" -- getting the same customers to buy more stuff, thereby greatly increasing your profit margin.

And so it goes: one prescription after another, like boxcars on a train, until the patient is: 1) financially depleted, and 2) suffering the ravages of extreme chemical toxicity from prescription drugs. By the time a typical patient finally dies from complications caused by the prescription drugs, they may have spent $100,00 or more on drugs alone. And that number can be multiplied even further if "heroic drugs" are prescribed during the patient's last surviving days.

Dangerous drug interactions are rarely tested

There's another factor to consider here, too: prescription drugs are rarely tested for dangerous interactions with other drugs. In other words, even though the FDA might have approved drug A for one thing, and drug B for another, nobody ever tested what happens in human beings when both drug A and drug B are taken together. Far too often, the combination is toxic, and many prescription drug combinations are fatal. Those that are not fatal may cause other injuries, meaning they will destroy the patient's liver or pancreas, which will of course create demand for even more prescription drugs to deal with those issues.

In this way, it's a self-fulfilling prophecy. When you visit a western medical doctor and take even a single prescription, you're caught in the spiral of pharmaceutical dependence. The only way to escape this trap and actually restore your health is to give up all prescription drugs and, instead, make radical changes to your diet and lifestyle -- and seek our naturopathic or holistic treatments -- to restore your health. This is the only way to create lasting health.

Where are all the healthy, happy, athletic prescription drug takers ?

Getting back to the main point here, doesn't it make sense that if prescription drugs made people healthy, there would be all sorts of healthy, happy, athletic people walking around touting the benefits of all the drugs they're taking? If drugs were good for you, there should be hundreds of thousands of such people right now. They should be mentally sharp, have low body fat, high bone density, healthy digestive tracts, healthy blood chemistry, vibrant skin, high energy, excellent moods, and so on. And yet this is not at all the case.

Typically, when you meet a person who is taking multiple prescription drugs, they are overweight or obese, chronically fatigued, mentally depressed, sickly in appearance, mentally clouded, suffering from several blood chemistry problems, burdened with weak immune systems, suffering from low bone density, and emotionally unstable. Sadly, this is not only the typical prescription drug patient I'm describing here, this also describes many doctors and health care workers who dole out the drugs in the first place.

Given this reality, it takes a great leap of imagination to believe that prescription drugs are somehow good for you. It's almost like walking into a Michael Jackson video, seeing a roomful of half-dead zombies drooling on each other, and shouting like Jim Carrey, "I want whatever they're taking!"

The promise of drugs is seductive

It's seductive, of course, to imagine that perhaps your state of mental anguish is simply a "brain chemistry imbalance" that can be corrected with antidepressant drugs. It's tempting to treat your osteoporosis with a doctor-recommend pill rather than getting into the habit of daily walking. It's convenient to live on heartburn medications instead of having to make healthy food choices for a change. Popping pills is always easier than changing your life, but popping pills is like making a deal with the Devil: you always end up losing.

When you take prescription drugs on a long-term basis, you're sure to come out worse than when you started. Prescription drugs are only appropriate for short-term interventions that save a patient's life while they make radical changes to their diet, nutrition and lifestyle that correct the underlying imbalances. For example, an obese middle-aged man suffering from extremely high cholesterol is obviously at risk of a sudden heart attack. Statin drugs might be legitimately used for a few weeks or months just to keep the guy alive while he makes radical lifestyle changes that will ultimately bring his cholesterol (and his body weight) down to reasonable levels.

The legitimate uses for prescription drugs

That's a reasonable, legitimate use of prescription drugs. But that's not the way they're being promoted today. Thanks to the culture of greed and widespread lack of ethics at pharmaceutical companies, statins and other drugs are being pushed as lifetime medications while any mention of diet, nutrition or exercise is either completely avoided or, at best, glossed over. The result is that patients are told drugs are the only answer.

Doctors are culpable in this as well: most don't even understand nutrition 101, and few bother to take the time to work with patients on lifestyle changes in the first place. Of course, most doctors would say that it's the patients who aren't interested in making changes, and they're right about that, but there's also something rather negligent about the fact that the vast majority of doctor visits result in a 90-second conversation and a prescription for the latest brand-name drug. (If you're a doctor and don't fit this description, good for you! But make no mistake: your colleagues are miserable healers...)

So why are prescription drugs so popular ?

The only reason prescription drugs are so popular today is not because they work, but because they are extremely profitable. It's profitable for the drug companies who mark them up as much as 500,000% over the cost of the raw ingredients, it's profitable for retailers like Walgreens who mark them up even further (and whose business relies primarily on drug profits), it's profitable for newspapers and magazines who gladly cash checks for millions of dollars in drug advertising, and it's even profitable for doctors who receive all sorts of free vacations, "consulting fees," and other not-so-subtle bribes in exchange for writing prescriptions for brand-name drugs.

The system is extremely profitable to everyone... everyone except you, that is. You suffer devastating health consequences when you participate. You get stuck with the medical debt. Your insurance rates go sky-high. And to add insult to injury, you're sicker now than before you started taking the drugs!

Our system of modern medicine is a sham, folks. It's primarily a drug racket that's dominated by Big Pharma. The science is largely distorted (and often outright fraudulent), the ethics have all but disappeared, and the long-term price of all this is going to be enormous. We have an unprecedented problem on our hands that's sickening an entire generation and creating stratospheric long-term health care costs for the next round of working taxpayers unlucky enough to stumble onto all this.

But don't worry: when everybody's sicker than ever, the drug companies will promise they have the next big cure. All you have to do is pop daily pills at $200 each, and all your health problems will be solved !

High Blood Pressure

Modern people are simply too stubborn or ignorantly aware on the seriousness of bad diets, which has lead to the high acidity level in their body, resulting their blood to become turbid. When the blood is turbid, the heart performance will also decreased. The cells of the heart and the body itself, do not get nourished by the nutrients in the blood. Eventually, it will lead to fast wearing-out of the heart and since the blood is turbid, it directly affects the blood circulation too. If the blood is turbid and unable to reach the ends of blood arteries, the blood pressure will shoot up, even when the heart is still in good condition.

When a person is diagnosed with a slightly high blood pressure, normally doctors will give the patient medications to decrease his blood pressure. These medications work by enlarging the veins and arteries because if the 'pipes' are enlarged, the pressure will also drop. This is just like a pump station. If the dimensions of the pipes are increased, more volume can flow through, logically the pressure will drop. Modern medicine treats the symptoms. For e.g., if the patients has a headache or stomach ache, painkillers can stop the pain straight away, sugar levels can be decreased for diabetes patients and blood pressure can be dropped for the high blood pressure patients. They will make the patients feel comfortable again in a short time.

But this method of pain suppression in the end cannot make a person healthier. It cannot cure the actual illness. Instead, it can lead to more serious conditions such as cancer. Diabetes patients are usually treated with insulin which is poisonous to the human body. While it may suppress the diabetes, it pollutes the blood in return and later on, will cause stroke or high blood pressure.

People with high blood pressure are usually treated with medications to lower it. These types of medications will continue to widen their veins and then, causing
their hearts to swell up. If a large quantity of this medication is taken, all the poisons will be accumulated inside the human body and may eventually turn into cancer or other illnesses. This is why a famous doctor from Japan once said, "Modern Medicine is a science that creates illness and sickness".

Thus, it is important to eat the right things and drink plenty of water so that our 'pipes' will be constantly clean and also, our 'pumps' will continue functioning.

What I'm about to offer here are my own opinion statements about aloe vera's healing benefits. It's interesting that if I were selling aloe vera myself, I could never make these true statements because the FDA would seize my inventory and shut me down for "selling unapproved drugs." But I'm not in the aloe vera business, I'm in the business of helping people heal, and I will not censor the truth about the healing powers of aloe vera merely to appease a corrupt Food and Drug Administration that continues to censor and oppress information about the healing benefits of natural medicine.

Here's what I know about aloe vera's health benefits :

Aloe vera boosts immune function and destroys cancer tumors

Scientific research shows strong immunomodulatory and antitumour properties for aloe vera polysaccharides. That means the gel helps boosts immune system function while destroying cancer tumors. One study published in International Immunopharmacology (1995) showed that aloe vera polysaccharides exhibited potent macrophage-activating activities including producing increased volumes of nitric oxide (which has antitumor potential).

Aloe vera halts inflammation

Using aloe topically is well known to ease inflammation of joints, reducing arthritis pain. But aloe can also be used internally, reducing inflammation throughout the body from the inside out. People who drink aloe vera for two weeks typically begin to experience a significant reduction of inflammation symptoms.

Aloe vera enhances skin health

Aloe is one of the most widely-used ingredients in high-grade skin care products. There's a reason for that: It's great medicine for the skin ! Aloe soothes the skin, hydrates it, nourishes it and accelerates the regeneration of new skin tissue. Google Scholar lists hundreds of links exploring the anti-cancer effects of acemannan. If you browse the studies, you'll realize that acemannan from aloe vera accelerates the destruction of cancer tumors, improves survival time and results in far better recovery from toxic cancer treatments. One study shown here demonstrates that acemannan increases cells' production of nitric oxide (NO), an anti-cancer chemical strongly associated with the shrinking of cancer tumors. Essentially, the more nitric oxide you produce (to a point), the less cancer you have, and acemannan increases the production of nitric oxide. Although this particular research was focused on chickens, the same effect has also been observed in humans.

Throw out your toxic first aid kid: Aloe vera makes everything else obsolete
Aloe vera is antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal. This fact is well known by not just herbalists around the world, but also by anyone with even a hint of common sense. If aloe vera gel wasn't antibacterial, then any little nick or scrape of the aloe plant would result in the whole thing being eaten up by bacteria. Aloe has to be antibacterial simply to survive in the wild! Otherwise, the moist, nutrient-rich gel would be a perfect breeding ground for bacteria.

Aloe vera makes most first aid kits obsolete. You can get rid of all those silly, toxic first aid sprays (antibacteria sprays, lotions, bandages, etc.) and just replace them all with aloe vera. It's also perfect for use on animals, because if they lick the wound, they won't be licking the toxic chemicals found in most first aid products.

Now, I don't mean to imply that aloe vera is a replacement for an emergency room. If you chopped off your finger in a shop accident, you can't just glue it back together with aloe vera gel. Or if your daugher ripped a gash in her leg on a swing set accident, she's probably still going to need stiches, but before you get to the emergency room, aloe vera gel can protect the wound and set the stage for accelerated healing.

Aloe is so useful, in fact, that I take a leaf with me every time I go hiking. It's my portable first aid kit, and when you have aloe, you hardly need anything else. It treats cuts, scrapes, burns, bites, stings, punctures, sprains, sunburns and even bruises. And as a bonus, if you're dying of thirst, you can eat the gel for its water content. An entire multi-billion dollar industry in chemical first aid products and synthetic skin care products is made obsolete by aloe vera. That's why I hope Alan Friedman, the founder of Good Cause Wellness, will soon offer a pure aloe vera gel without any other ingredients. That way, it could be used both as a food supplement AND as a first-aid product.

Aloe vera as a natural food preservative

A thin layer of aloe vera gel can be used as a natural food preservative, eliminating the need for chemical preservatives. Research conducted by Daniel Valero, Ph.D., of the University of Miguel Hernández in Alicante, Spain, showed that a thin layer of aloe vera gel was highly effective in preserving foods. For the experiment, they dipped table grapes into an aloe vera gel, then stored them at refrigerator temperatures. Dipping fruits and vegetables in aloe vera gel would eliminate e.coli, preserve freshness, and greatly extend shelf life. So why isn't anybody doing this with aloe? Probably because, once again, aloe vera gel can't be patented. And it's easier and cheaper for food companies to simply add synthetic chemicals to foods than to switch to something safe and natural.

But that doesn't mean you can't do this yourself! Soon, a pure aloe vera gel product (with no added flavors) will likely be made available at Good Cause Wellness ( . Aloe vera extends lifespan

A study on rats showed aloe vera extends lifespan by 10 percent. The abstract on this study, shown here, explains the following :

A summary of results are as follows: Aloe ingestion, both crude and processed, was shown to extend (10%) average life span and slow the mortality rate doubling time. Also, several beneficial effects from aloe ingestion on age-related disease were found: Group 2 and 3 showed a lower incidence of atrial thrombosis than Group 1. Furthermore, Group 2 showed a significantly lower incidence of fatal chronic nephropathy and occurrence of multiple causes of death compared to the control group. All groups ingesting aloe showed a slightly lower incidence of fatal leukemia. Moreover, no adverse, toxic effects were found with the ingestion of aloe vera.

"Nephropathy" simply means kidney disorders, by the way. So this is explaining that aloe vera reduces kidney disease and other causes of death. It also demonstrated a lower rate of leukemia, which is an interesting finding given that so many children today still eat hot dogs laced with cancer-causing sodium nitrite (a chemical added by junk food companies to turn the meat red), and sodium nitrite causes leukemia and brain tumors, among other cancers. Aloe vera ends acid reflux disease

Acid reflux isn't really a disease. The drug companies just call it that to convince everyone that they need to take medications to ease the symptoms. But in reality, all you probably need is aloe vera. Drink aloe vera gel on a regular basis, and your heartburn symptoms will usually vanish within a few days. Of course, it would also help if you'd stop eating fried foods and processed foods.

Aloe vera heals radiation burns from radiation cancer treatments

For those cancer treatment victims who have been maimed by radiotherapy treatments (which don't cure cancer, by the way: the treatments are largely a medical hoax), applying aloe vera topically to the radiation area will rapidly accelerate the healing response. Consuming aloe vera internally will also help heal radiation burns. Of course, it's smarter to avoid radiation in the first place, since the procedure actually causes cancer just like mammograms do.

A complete discussion of the fraud in modern cancer treatments would require another article entirely, but the short version is that the cancer industry has no interest whatsoever in actually curing or preventing cancer and, instead, generates windfall profits through ongoing cancer treatments that only harm or kill patients. Chemotherapy, radiation and surgery for cancer are largely medical frauds, and mammography is actually an insidious recruiting system that scares women into unnecessary treatments for cancers they often don't even have. (The rate of false positives is shockingly high, and mammography has been scientifically proven to harm 10 women for every one woman that it helps).

If you undergo such barbaric procedures, note that using aloe vera (both internally and externally) can greatly improve your results by protecting you from the treatment itself. Of course, modern oncologists are simultaneously so arrogant and ignorant that they will insist you take nothing that might "interfere" with their poisons, which is why people who foolishly believe in modern oncology are rapidly removing themselves from the human gene pool.

Radiomodifying effects of the leaf extract of Aloe vera were observed on the testes of Swiss albino mice at 50 and 100 mg/kg dose levels. This extract was non-toxic when injected up to 800 mg/kg, and significant enhancement in survival time of the irradiated group was observed. In addition, treatment reduced radiation-induced damage to germ cells and loss in body weight.

Got that ? The key concepts here are "significant enhancement in survival time" (the mice lived longer), and a reduction in radiation-induced damage to germ cells, meaning that the DNA in your sperm remains more intact. That's a good thing unless you really want to have mutant children someday or have an unnatural desire to watch your genitals shrivel and die (another side effect from radiation therapy).

Aloe vera cures gum disease

Want a simple, effective cure for gum disease? It's easy: Just sprinkle some of this aloe vera powder on your toothbrush before brushing. The aloe vera powder actually heals gums and eliminates gum disease.

Merely drinking the aloe also helps heal your gums: Just swish the liquid around your mouth a few times before each swallow. You'll be bathing your gums in healing aloe gel, and they'll begin to heal rapidly. Even severe cases of gum disease can be completely cured in a matter of weeks using aloe vera gel. When used externally, aloe is the best wound dressing ever discovered, far exceeding the capability of even the most advanced emergency room wound dressings. It works by simultaneously sealing the wound while attracting an increased flow of blood to the wound, acclerating wound healing. Aloe has been known to heal third-degree burn victims with no scarring and to restore burned skin that would have normally died. Every emergency room in every hospital around the world should have aloe vera on hand, but they'd rather stock chemical medicines than far more effective aloe vera gel from nature (you can't patent aloe vera gel, so there's no profit incentive).

Aloe vera gel is extremely effective in wound care. Large chunks of aloe vera gel can literally be packed inside wounds such as gunshot wounds or tissue tears. Placed directly on or in the wound, it kills bacteria, prevents infection and actually nourishes the traumatized tissues while sealing the wound against outside infection. Nothing beats aloe for emergency trauma medicine. If the U.S. military had any sense, they'd be carrying aloe vera leaves around to treat soldiers suffering from shrapnel wounds and explosion burns.

Here's a fascinating use of phytonutrients found in aloe vera. I've talked about this in previous articles but never discussed it in detail until now. It turns out that special polymers found in aloe vera gel have the ability to potentiate the oxygen carrying capacity of blood.

What do I mean by that ? I mean that aloe vera gel turns sludgy, oxygen-depleted blood into smooth-flowing oxygen-rich blood! It's being used experimentally right now by the U.S. military to save the lives of soldiers who have lost enormous amounts of blood from battlefield injuries. The original research was done on rats (see below) by unethical researchers who kill rats for a living. They bled out the rats, removing up to 3.15mL of blood per 100g of rat body weight (which is a huge amount of blood when you consider the small size of the rats), then tried to resuscitate them by injecting a polymer made from aloe vera. The study showed phenomenal improvements in the resuscitation, blood pressure and survival in the group receiving the aloe vera polymer.

What it means is that the aloe vera made the remaining blood work better. And this was done in rats who, believe it or not, have far healthier diets than the average U.S. consumer. By using aloe vera in humans, the improvement in the "sludge blood" found in most U.S. adults would be nothing less than astonishing. Drug companies, of course, want to isolate some chemical found in aloe vera and turn it into a patentable drug. But that's entirely unnecessary. Just eat aloe vera gel and you get the benefits. Besides, the benefits are not due to one isolated chemical, they're made possible by a symphony of supporting phytonutrients. That's something that all the minds in western pharmaceutical science today still can't understand: the synergy of healing compounds from nature.

Aloe vera gel is one of my own secrets to strong athletic performance. People who know me at the gym call me a "cardio machine." They even gave me a nickname in Capoeira that means "The Machine." Because at age 38, I'm out-performing twenty years olds. One of my secrets is simply that I frequeuntly eat raw aloe vera gel. It makes my blood carry more oxygen to enhance the function of my tissues and organs. That gives me a strong "oxygen advantage" over everyone else, because almost nobody else eats aloe vera (they're too closed minded to even consider the possibility of what it might do for them). So while others are eating poisonous foods and taking toxic drugs, I'm eating nutrient-dense superfoods and taking aloe vera.

The effect is so powerful that I'm fairly certain as soon as professional athletes figure this out, they're going to start doping with aloe vera gel. They'll cycle farther, swim faster and recover more quickly from any physical exercise. Aloe vera gel turns normal blood into super-oxygenated blood. But you have to eat a lot of it. I blend up an entire leaf (a piece of gel about the size of my forearm) in a smoothie and drink that. You can't expect huge benefits from taking tiny nibbles of aloe vera. You have to make it part of your diet. Eat it like food.

Reducing stroke and heart attacks

Now, if you know anything about the cause of strokes and heart attacks, you realize that enhancing the quality of the blood will have a significant impact on reducing heart attacks and strokes. To my knowledge, there aren't any strong studies measuring this effect yet, but I have no doubt there will be in time. Eating aloe vera is like adding an all-natural non-stick additive to your blood flow. It stops blood cells from clumping together, which is part of what causes a stroke.

Dark-field microscopy is a technique for viewing live human blood vessels. As with any truly useful technology for preventing disease without drugs and surgery, it's been censored and oppressed by the medical establishment, but what's interesting about dark-field microscopy is that it shows the form and structure of your blood cells. You can actually see how your blood cells are shaped and whether they clump together. Most people's blood cells clump together because they live on a disease-inducing diet of fried foods, homogenized dairy fats, saturated animal fats, hydrogenated oils and other deadly foods. These massive clumps of blood cells slow bloodflow and can ultimately get lodged in the capillaries of the circulatory system, blocking off nutrients and oxygen to tissues and brain cells. Aloe vera, on the other hand, causes sticky blood to become "unsticky blood," making it flow like it should -- one blood cell at a time -- so that oxygen and nutrients can reach every last organ and cell in your body.

The fact that aloe vera can reverse "sludge blood" while allowing the blood to carry more oxygen means that it will quite obviously reduce heart attacks and strokes. In fact, it will also reduce high blood pressure because part of the reason blood pressure is so high in some people is because their blood has turned into a thick, viscious liquid that flows like molasses. Basic physics tells you that a thicker liquid will take more pressure to pump through any system. By reducing the viscosity and making the bood flow in a more frictionless manner, blood pressure is automatically lowered.

There are many other benefits that come from eating aloe vera gel, too, such as increased blood flow to the brain, which might mean a reduction in Alzheimer's progression, improved learning, enhanced memory and better cognitive function. These benefits have yet to be proven in studies, but just because the studies haven't been done doesn't mean the aloe isn't already providing these benefits to those who take it. Since there's no money to be made from studing aloe vera, the science will lag behind reality by several decades. Most of the best healing benefits of herbs remain unstudied because there's no profit motive to fund such studies. So don't expect scientists to be leaping at the opportunity to "prove" that aloe vera has all these health benefits. Just eat it yourself and observe your own health improvements. You get the benefits regardless of whether a journal has published statistics about those benefits.

Organic Foods more NUTRITIOUS than Conventional Foods

(NewsTarget) If you have been a supporter and consumer of organic foods because of its better taste and health benefits, then you’ve probably endured the taunts from scoffers and sceptics and labelled a “health nut”, “fanatic” or worse.

Even a government body (the FSA) which provides advice and information on food, has up to now had the following stance on organic foods: "Consumers may also choose to buy organic food because they believe that it is safer and more nutritious than other food. However, the balance of current scientific evidence does not support this view."

Well, now it's almost official : Organic foods really are better for you.

The biggest and most extensive scientific study and research into the benefits of organic food has found that it is more nutritious than ordinary produce and may in fact lengthen people’s lives. They also contain higher levels of antioxidants and flavo-noids which help ward off heart disease and cancer as well as higher levels of beneficial minerals such as iron and zinc. (But you could’ve told them that).

Newcastle University have been leading this £12m, four-year project, funded by the European Union and their findings show that organic food contains more antioxidants and less unhealthy fatty acids.

They found levels of antioxidants in milk from organic cattle were between 50% and 80% higher than normal milk. Organic wheat, tomatoes, potatoes, cabbage, onions and lettuce had between 20% and 40% more nutrients than non-organic foods.

Project co-ordinator Professor Carlo Leifert said : "We have shown there are more of certain nutritionally desirable compounds and less of the baddies in organic foods or improved amounts of the fatty acids you want and less of those you don't want. Our research is now trying to find out where the difference between organic and conventional food comes from. What we're really interested in is finding out why there is so much variability with respect to the differences. What in the agricultural system gives a higher nutritional content and less of the baddies in the food ?"

The studies have indicated that differences between organic and non-organic produce were so marked, eating organic produce is like eating an extra portion of fruit or vegetables everyday. “If you have just 20% more antioxidants and you can’t get your kids to do five a day, then you might just be okay with four a day,” said Leifert.

The research project included growing both organic and conventional test crops of fruits and vegetables. They also reared cattle on a 725-acre site at Nafferton Farm, Northumberland.

The research will also assist organic farmers to improve their quality and farming methods with a better understanding of how the nutritional quality of produce is affected by agricultural methods.

The question is: will this project, also known as “Quality Low Input Food project”, end years of debate and overturn Government advice that eating organic food is no more than a “lifestyle choice”? The Food Standards Agency has confirmed it will be reviewing the evidence from the research and considering whether to change its advice.

The Soil association, a leading representative of the organic producers, is hoping that this latest research could help to contribute to a "seismic" change in the food industry. The final results of the project will be published over the next 12 months.

Processed Meat Unsafe For Human Consumption

World cancer experts have finally declared what NewsTarget readers learned nearly four years ago: That processed meats cause cancer, and anyone seeking to avoid cancer should avoid eating all processed meats for life.

Hundreds of cancer researchers took part in a five-year project spanning more than 7,000 clinical studies and designed to document the links between diet and cancer. Their conclusion, published in the World Cancer Research Fund's report, Food, Nutrition, Physical Activity and the Prevention of Cancer: a Global Perspective (2007), has rocked the health world with a declaration that all people should immediately stop buying and eating processed meat products and that all processed meat should be avoided for life !

Processed meats, the report explains, are simply too dangerous for human consumption. And why? Because they contain chemical additives that are known to greatly increase the risk of various cancers, including colorectal cancer, breast cancer, prostate cancer, leukemia, brain tumors, pancreatic cancer and many more. The report, published at this website also recommends that consumers :

• Avoid all sugary soft drinks for life.
• Exercise at least 30 minutes a day.
• Get lean and fit, without becoming underweight.
• Limit consumption of ALL meats (even fresh meat).
• Breastfeed all infants for their first six months, avoiding infant formula.

Sadly, the WCRF still does not recommend that consumers use nutritional supplements to help protect themselves from cancer, indicating that the group still has a lot to learn about the role of medicinal mushrooms, sea vegetables, microalgae, Chinese herbs, rainforest herbs and superfood extracts in preventing and reversing cancer. But at least the group's recommendation that consumers now avoid all processed meat products is a huge step in the right direction. It is the first time that any internationally-recognized cancer organization has found the courage to make a partial proclaimation about the health hazards of the chemicals found in processed meat products. It's almost as big a deal as when the American Medical Association, after years of taking millions of dollars from tobacco companies, finally admitted that smoking causes lung cancer and heart disease. (A decade after the scientific evidence was irrefutable, of course, but then again, the AMA was making money off Big Tobacco by running tobacco ads in JAMA...)

What is "processed meat" exactly ?

A woman asked me this question at a recent live event where I was warning the audience about the dangers of chemicals found in popular grocery products. Frankly, I was surprised to hear the question. But I've since learned that many people really don't know the difference between processed meat and non-processed meat ("fresh" meat).

Here's the difference :

Fresh meat - usually has only one ingredient: The meat! Fresh meat is refrigerated and has a very short shelf life (just a few days, usually). It's usually packaged in simple wrappers, with no fancy logos or color printing.

Processed meat - has many ingredients and is usually packaged for long-term shelf life. These products almost always contain sodium nitrite, the cancer-causing chemical additive that meat companies use as a color fixer to turn their meat products a bright red "fresh-looking" color. Processed meat products include:

• Bacon
• Sausage
• Pepperoni
• Beef jerky
• Deli slices
• Hot dogs
• Sandwich meat (including those served at restaurants)
• Ham
• Meat "gift" products like Christmas sausages
• Meat used in canned soups
• Meat used in frozen pizza
• Meat used in kid's lunch products
• Meat used in ravioli, spaghetti or Italian pasta products

... and many more meat products.

Unless it says "NITRITE FREE" on the front label, you can bet it's made with cancer-causing sodium nitrite!

Hint :
You will only find nitrite-free meat products in two places in the grocery store :

1) In the fresh meat section where you can buy freshly-ground hamburger, for example, and ....

2) In the freezer, where you can find "natural" meat products that are nitrite-free.

What are the dangerous chemicals in processed meats ?

Sodium nitrite is one of the most dangerous chemicals added to processed meats. Please be aware :

• You MUST read the ingredients list to find the sodium nitrite! Meat product companies do not list this ingredient on the front of the package.

• Even ORGANIC meat products and NATURAL meat products can still contain sodium nitrite. So read the labels to be sure, and avoid buying any meat product made with sodium nitrite.

• Be especially careful of food for kids! Virtually all packaged food products containing meat and marketed to children contain sodium nitrite! (Read the ingredients to protect your children.)

Monosodium glutamate (MSG) is a second dangerous chemical found in virtually all processed meat products. MSG is a dangerous excitotoxin linked to neurological disorders such as migraine headaches, Alzheimer's disease, loss of appetite control, obesity and many other serious health conditions. Manufacturers use MSG to add flavor to dead-tasting processed meat products.

Essentially, dead meat products look and taste dead (because they are), so meat companies use the following three ingredients to make them look fresh and taste interesting:

Sodium nitrite makes the meat look red and fresh. (But it promotes cancer).

MSG makes the meat taste savory. (But it causes neurological disorders).

Processed salt makes the meat taste more interesting. (But it causes nutritional problems and high blood pressure).

On top of these three chemical additives, processed meats also contain saturated animal fat that is often contaminated with PCBs, heavy metals, pesticide residues and other dangerous substances.

Protect yourself and your family
Processed meats promote cancer. There is simply no question about the scientific validity of that statement, and anyone who disagrees with it is either working for the meat industry or hopelessly behind the times on their nutritional research.

The processed meat industry, of course, insists that processed meat is perfectly healthy and that you can eat all you want. It's no surprise, of course: Big Tobacco insisted that cigarettes aren't really bad for your health and that nicotine isn't addictive, either. No industry is really willing to admit that its products are hazardous to human health, and the processed meat industry is no exception.

To protect yourself from these dangerous processed food products, here are the action steps to take :

1) Check the ingredients of all processed meat products in your refrigerator and pantry. Throw out any products containing sodium nitrite or MSG (monosodium glutamate).

2) Inform your spouse, roomates or children of what you're doing and why you're doing it. Show them the sodium nitrite right on the label of the products as you throw them out. Let them know that the World Cancer Research Fund now recommends that ALL consumers avoiding eating processed meats for life!

3) Boycott all processed meat products for life! Never buy processed meats again. That includes shopping at the grocery store, eating at a restaurant or consuming foods at a social event.

4) Spread the word. Tell others about the dangers of sodium nitrite. Print out the Honest Food Guide ( and share it, if you want. Let people know that processed meats are dangerous for their health.

What's next :

The future of processed meats
My research tells me that chemical additives in processed meats are emerging as the next big food safety issue to hit mainstream awareness. Just a few years ago, most consumers had never heard of trans fats or the dangers of hydrogenated oils, for example. But once that issue went mainstream, fast food restaurants all over the country announced changes to avoid hydrogenated oils.

I believe that sodium nitrite in processed meats is the next big food safety issue that's about to break into mainstream awareness. More and more consumers are suddenly aware that hot dogs promote cancer, or that bacon consumption is incredibly bad for your health. As awareness of this issue builds, there's going to be increasing political pressure to pass laws that protect the public by strictly limited or banning the use of sodium nitrite in processed meats.

The meat industry, of course, which seems to have absolutely no respect for human or animal life, will fight this every inch of the way. The people in charge of meat-producing companies exhibit zero concern for the health of the consumers who actually eat their products, and they remain entirely focused on the profits to be had from selling more toxic meat products to gullible consumers.

But just like Big Tobacco's marketing methods and fraudulent science was finally exposed as wholesale fraud, the processed meat industry is going to have to face scientific facts sooner or later: Sodium nitrite promotes cancer, and eating processed meat products substantially increases your risk of cancer. There's no denying it or arguing about it, at least not by any sane person. Eating cancer-causing chemicals is blatantly and irrefutably dangerous to your health.

Why some people commit nutritional suicide
Of course, many low-income, low-education consumers still continue to smoke cigarettes AND eat processed meat products. (Attend any NASCAR event and you'll find a whole crowd of 'em!) But the smart consumers (who represent the real future of human civilization, by the way) are wising up and increasingly opting for healthier foods made without dangerous chemicals.

There are people in society today who exhibit a strong desire to commit nutritional suicide. For those people, there is beef jerky, hot dogs, frozen pizza, cigarettes and over-hyped "energy" drinks. The future of these people is easy to see: Cancer, diabetes, heart disease, chemotherapy, pharmaceuticals, pain, death and bankruptcy.

Thankfully, there are other people who believe in taking care of their health and in living informed lives with outstanding health. For these people, there are living foods, superfoods, raw cacao, sprouts, rainforest herbs, sunshine, juicing and joyful exercise. Their future is also clear: Exceptional mental performance, freedom from chronic pain, excellent vitality and longevity, spiritual awareness, abundant living and much more.

Which group do you want to belong to ?

You make that decision every time you shop for food. When you buy processed meats, you put yourself on a timeline track towards disease, suffering and medical victimization. But when you avoid meat products and focus on a plant-based diet, you are creating a future filled of abundance and health. It's up to you to decide which of these futures you'd rather create.

Regardless of which future you choose, there's no judgement from me. You're free to do what you want with your life and your own body. Some people choose to abuse their bodies as chemical playgrounds, living in the moment and dying young. That's their choice. Others choose to extend their lives and honor their bodies, living an extended, purpose-filled life. That's fine, too. I don't really care how people live their lives, I just want people to live consciously and understand that their decisions create results.

Anyone who decides to eat processed meat products on a repeated basis is simply creating a result. That result is cancer, and over enough years, that cancer will grow to the point where it shows up on a scan. That's when the doctor says, "You have cancer" and starts prescribing even more toxic chemicals known as chemotherapy agents. This is not a disease with an unknown cause. In fact, cancer is incredibly easy to both prevent AND cure -- but only if you understand the fundamentals of nutrition.

For now, just remember :

Processed meats = sodium nitrite = cancer

If you don't want cancer, don't eat processed meats. Ever.

(And if you really want to be healthy, eat a plant-based diet for life).

What causes Haemorrhoids ?

Most people eat either too little, or no vegetables. They also do not drink enough water and thus, develop unhealthy lifestyles. Such behaviour can lead to abnormal excretion if the wastes inside the large intestine are not removed after 24 hrs. Their acidic toxins will be absorbed with the water and then, goes back to feed the cells and keeps accumulating in the large intestines. Once such toxins reach a high level, the body can still get rid of them through normal bowel motions. But, it may result in developing bleeding haemorrhoids.

There was a patient. She informed, "she has serious bleeding haemorrhoids. Last few days ago, the bleeding has stopped after having an injection at the hospital". In spite of that, she still felt quite uncomfortable. Haemorrhoid is, in fact, a process whereby the body is trying to get rid of the toxic substances. When the haemorrhoids are injected, the build up of toxins definitely increases, as they have nowhere to go. Consequently, the body will become more acidic causing all the discomfort.

Undoubtedly, haemorrhoidal bleeding can cause so much pain and discomfort. Modern medinice will apply injections and medication to stop such bleeding. Such treatment also only weakens the body, resulting in poor capability of pushing out the toxins, which are stored in the large intestines and rectum. Often, an operation is necessary to remove the haemorrhoids. This procedure will further corrode the anus and thus, suppressing its ability to let out toxins.

When the body gets stronger, haemorrhoids are more than likely to recur. To cure this problem completely, one should let the excretion happen regularly. Eat less fish and meat so that the toxins in the body won't increase. When haemorrhoids occur, one should eat a large amount of vegetables and drink a lot of water, as this will help the body to get rid of the toxins faster.

What are haemorrhoids ?

It refers to a condition in which the veins around the anus or lower rectum are swollen and inflamed. Haemorrhoids may result from straining to move stool. Other contributing factors include pregnancy, aging, chronic constipation or diarrhea, and anal intercourse. Haemorrhoids are either inside the anus—internal—or under the skin around the anus—external.

What are the symptoms of haemorrhoids ?

Many anorectal problems, including fissures, fistulae, abscesses, or irritation and itching, also called pruritus ani, have similar symptoms and are incorrectly referred to as haemorrhoids. Haemorrhoids usually are not dangerous or life threatening. In most cases, haemorrhoidal symptoms will go away within a few days.

Although many people have haemorrhoids, not all experience symptoms. The most common symptom of internal hemorrhoids is bright red blood covering the stool, on toilet paper, or in the toilet bowl. However, an internal haemorrhoid may protrude through the anus outside the body, becoming irritated and painful. This is known as a protruding haemorrhoid.

Symptoms of external haemorrhoids may include painful swelling or a hard lump around the anus that results when a blood clot forms. This condition is known as a thrombosed external hemorrhoid. In addition, excessive straining, rubbing, or cleaning around the anus may cause irritation with bleeding and/or itching, which may produce a vicious cycle of symptoms. Draining mucus may also cause itching.

How common are haemorrhoids ?

Haemorrhoids are common in both men and women. About half of the population has haemorrhoids by age 50. Haemorrhoids are also common among pregnant women. The pressure of the fetus on the abdomen, as well as hormonal changes, cause the haemorrhoidal vessels to enlarge. These vessels are also placed under severe pressure during childbirth. For most women, however, haemorrhoids caused by pregnancy are a temporary problem.

How are haemorrhoids diagnosed ?

A thorough evaluation and proper diagnosis by the doctor is important any time bleeding from the rectum or blood in the stool occurs. Bleeding may also be a symptom of other digestive diseases, including colorectal cancer.

The doctor will examine the anus and rectum to look for swollen blood vessels that indicate haemorrhoids and will also perform a digital rectal exam with a gloved, lubricated finger to feel for abnormalities. Closer evaluation of the rectum for haemorrhoids requires an exam with an anoscope, a hollow, lighted tube useful for viewing internal haemorrhoids, or a proctoscope, useful for more completely examining the entire rectum.

What is the treatment ?

Medical treatment of haemorrhoids is aimed initially at relieving symptoms. Measures to reduce symptoms include tub baths several times a day in plain, warm water for about 10 minutes application of a haemorrhoidal cream or suppository to the affected area for a limited time.

Preventing the recurrence of haemorrhoids will require relieving the pressure and straining of constipation. Doctors will often recommend increasing fiber and fluids in the diet. Eating the right amount of fiber and drinking six to eight glasses of fluid—not alcohol—result in softer, bulkier stools. A softer stool makes emptying the bowels easier and lessens the pressure on haemorrhoids caused by straining. Eliminating straining also helps prevent the haemorrhoids from protruding.

Good sources of fiber are fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. In addition, doctors may suggest a bulk stool softener or a fiber supplement such as psyllium (Metamucil) or methylcellulose (Citrucel).

In some cases, haemorrhoids must be treated endoscopically or surgically. These methods are used to shrink and destroy the haemorrhoidal tissue. The doctor will perform the procedure during an office or hospital visit.

A number of methods may be used to remove or reduce the size of internal haemorrhoids. These techniques include :

a) Rubber band ligation.
A rubber band is placed around the base of the haemorrhoid inside the rectum. The band cuts off circulation, and the haemorrhoid withers away within a few days.

b) Sclerotherapy.
A chemical solution is injected around the blood vessel to shrink the haemorrhoid.

c) Infrared coagulation.
A special device is used to burn haemorrhoidal tissue.

d) Haemorrhoidectomy.
Occasionally, extensive or severe internal or external haemorrhoids may require removal by surgery known as haemorrhoidectomy.

How are haemorrhoids prevented ?

The best way to prevent haemorrhoids is to keep stools soft so they pass easily, thus decreasing pressure and straining, and to empty bowels as soon as possible after the urge occurs. Exercise, including walking, and increased fiber in the diet help reduce constipation and straining by producing stools that are softer and easier to pass.

What causes Stone Growth in the body ?

There has been many occasions that doctors often say "vegetarians tend to have a greater risk of getting kidney and gallbladder stones because of the large amount of calcium oxalate in vegetables" they ate.

In fact, the reason that the human body gets stones should not be related to the calcium oxalate. Otherwise elephants, cows and goats would have plenty of such stones because they eat much more grass than humans. Using the doctors' theory, their gall bladders and kidneys would be full of stones. However, some people also say that stones are caused by the fibres in vegetables which is obviously wrong.

Food we eat, first get digested by the stomach. Then, all the nutrients are first separated and then, extracted by the small intestines into the blood supply. The leftover waste (including the fibres) will follow the path into the large intestine and then, get pushed out of the body via the anus. Vegetable fibres have no way of getting through the small intestine walls, so how can they get into the blood to cause stones to grow ?

Modern vegetarians often eat plenty of processed vegetarian products nowadays and not fresh vegetables. These vegetarian products have been processed many times and they are far from vegetables in their natural state. They also have a lot of added artificial spices, color and MSG and which is why, they have a worse effect than eating chicken, duck, fish or meat. That is why some long term vegetarians have not only gallstones or kidney stones, but are also more likely to have cancer.

There was a patient who had finished his army service. He ate three meals a day and only vegetables. He didn't eat beans, nuts, lemon or vinegar. One day, after 07 years he noticed that his urine was very cloudy. So, he went to the hospital to have a check-up and they found that there was a lot of fine sand in his urine. Even the doctors could not explain it. After hearing his story, it is a clear fact that "the more acidic the human body is, the higher possibility of it getting stones. Stones are usually 95 % cholestrol and less than 05 % combined calcium. So, if you eat a lot of chicken, duck, fish, meat, eggs, nuts, beans, oil, salt, sugar, alcohol, milk (including soya milk) and vegetarian processed products, you are more susceptible to get stones in your gallbladder or kidneys". Thus, the reason for the sand in his bladder and kidneys was that his diet of vegetables over the last 07 years eventually broke down the stones. His body was slowly turning back to alkaline and the stones were broken and eliminated naturally.

Because such stones have less than 05 % combined calcium, modern researchers think, "too much calcium is not good for your body, it will cause gallbladder and kidney stones". But, these professionals often encourage people to drink more milk. Don't they know that milk contains a lot of calcium lactate ? The calcium lactate is a kind of combined calcium, very hard for the body to absorb and also very acidic because milk and soya milk are high in protein and easily turns into acidic toxins. When people drink a lot of milk, their body becomes acidic and they are more likely to have stones. This theory can be proven by just observing the people around you. Those who have gallbladder and kidney stones are the ones who have bad diets.

Therefore, people with stones may be able to get rid of them altogether, if they become a vegan. However, it also depends on the size of the stones and also the patient's general health and constitution. Such removal might need modern technology known as lithotripsy (by using shock waves to break up stones that form in the kidneys, urinary bladder, ureters or gallbladder)

What causes Thyroidism ?

Medically, it is caused by a diet low in vegetables and water. In today's world, we tend to eat more processed foods. As a result, our body becomes more acidic too. It is our thyroid gland that will secrete its hormones, to enable the bone marrow to be released from the individual's skeletal structure. The bone marrow, which is comprised of calcium ion, is alkaline in nature and it is needed to neutralise the body's acidity. Such activitiy is ongoing everyday, in order to ensure that the body function efficiently.

Due to our ignorance by not eating more vegetables and drinking more water, people tend to consume more processed foods instead. Unknowingly, they are creating more toxins in our body. Unfortunately, this causes the thyroid glands to secrete its hormones continuously, to stimulate the bone marrow production, in order to maintain the body's health. Eventually, when the bone marrow is depleted, the body will also die. Therefore, the thyroid glands must be stopped from overacting but this is just like applying brakes to a car that is travelling down a steep hill. If the driver is stepping on the brakes all the time, surely the brakes will start to over-heat. Thus, this is how damage is caused to the thyroid gland and further lead to thyroidism. Doctors often say, "thyroidism is caused by lack of iodine". Maybe, this is true but they also say "patients with thyroidism must not eat seaweed and sea grass because of its high iodine content". Why ? Isn't this a contradiction to their treatment ? It is like telling the body, you are damaged but there is no need to repair it. Similarly, it is like someone who needs money but is not allowed to earn it.

In conclusion, to deal with thyroidism, one must eat as many green vegetables as we can and drink plenty of water. In this way our acid & alkaline levels will be able to balance themselves naturally. When the body is alkaline in nature, there is no need for the thyroid gland to work overtime anymore as there is no need to secrete any hormone to release the bone marrow. This is simple logic.

Why do people suffers from Gout ?

In year 2002, it was reported that the age of Asian people suffering from gout has started to decrease every year. However, the percentage of people under 19 years who started to get gout, is 10 times higher than those in other countries. Why ?

Today, young people can afford to eat more. The high acidity of the inner human fluids that are caused by bad diets, are the main factor. To get gout when you are young, will lead to poor mobility, or even requiring a wheelchair. The older generation still have their children to look after them but what happens when a 19 years person gets hurt ? They may have their parents to look after them, but who will take care of them, after their parents passed away ? The younger generation is supposed to contribute to society and if they start suffering from diseases, how will they be assets to the community ?

Incidentally, for older people who suffer from illness and pain, they will not listen to your advice too, when you tell them to change their eating habits. When you advised them "if you want to be healthy, just eat more vegetables and drink more water" and they will argue with you, saying "if they do not eat fish and meat, they will not have enough nurtrition".

Believe it or not, almost all fishermen have gout symptoms. They always get the freshest of fish. People who eat fish have a greater chance of getting gout than those eating red meat because fish has more protein than red meat. But, raw fish has a more lively protein and is slightly better for the health. But most modern people are accustomed to cooked foods and therefore, they are eating too much dead protein. This causes their fluids to become more acidic. Thus, increasing the chance of developing gout, cancer or other kinds of serious illnesses.

Some people believe beans and nuts belong to the vegetable protein because they come from plants. Vegetarians don't eat fish and meat. Is it correct to say that they must eat a large quantity of beans and nuts, as well as drink soy milk to get sufficient protein ? This may be right. And, dieticians always say that "protein is the source nutrient of life" and if this is true, why will a gout patient suffer more pain the day after he consumes a large amount of nuts, beans or soya milk ? This should not be the reaction...after consuming the source nutrient of life !

An accountant was once sharing his experience in the curing of his gout. He ate a lot of bananas. It was a doubt because bananas are very sweet. The sweeter a fruit is, the higher the acidity of the fruit. Then, he elaborated that he ate only unripe bananas. These unripe bananas are not sweet except that it causes a furry sensation on the tongue. Unripe bananas are alkaline and that was how he cured his gout. Actually, when he ate raw bananas in the beginning, the gout got worse. But, he persistently continued eating, until his gout didn't cause any more pain and eventually, gone forever. He started to change his diet of vegetables and also, plenty of water. Since then, his gout has never recurred. The reason why his gout became worse in the beginning, was because of the adjustment made within the body when it tries to revert itself from being highly acidic to alkaline because bananas are an alkaline food.

Why do people suffers from Osteoporosis ?

This is an extract from a book by Prof Chang Jia Rui of Taiwan. He says .....

[It takes a lot of effort to write my book and some people are finding it hard to continue reading because I kept on saying things against modern medicine. Some people even say "you kept on stressing the point from the beginning that human bodies don't need chicken, duck, fish, meat, eggs, nuts, beans, oil, salt, sugar, milk, alcohol and processed foods. Yet, all doctors say that milk is a rich source of calcium. Who do you say that milk is not good" ? If everyone thinks that milk can provide calcium and is good for the human health, I will not go against that as long as everybody is happy.

But I have doubts about this. In the past, when old people tripped over, they didn't necessarily break their bones but today, primary and secondary school children tend to get a bone fracture very easily, if they fall. If drinking milk will supply a large amount of calcium, then it means people in the past drank a lot of milk and thus, their bone structures were better and didn't fracture as easily and today children don't drink enough milk and so, their bones tend to have an osteoporosis problem and fractured much more easily. This is not the way to address the problem.

Maybe the theory and the reality for drinking milk and the intake of calcium do not match. I am not trying to deny anyone's theory. I am just trying to help everyone understand the reality and hope that everybody will be healthy and happy.

Why doesn't drinking milk give us calcium ? Almost everybody knows that milk contains a large amount of calcium. But, both the fresh milk and the powdered milk have been processed by food manufacturers. Although it still contains a lot of calcium after processing, it actually contains lactic acidic calcium and this type of calcium can't be absorbed by the human body. This type of milk contains a lot of protein but they are actually dead protein that can't be used in the body and it will slowly turn into acidic toxins. When the acidic toxins in the human body accumulate to a specific level, the body cells can't live and the body will get sick. The body will release bone marrow to maintain normal cell functioning. The bone marrow contains a large amount of calcium, this calcium is alkaline and is used to neutralise the acidity in the human body. The more milk consumed, the more acidic the body fluids become and then, the more bone marrow is used to neutralise the acidity. This is why drinking milk doesn't increase the calcium level but actually decreases the calcium level of the body. Nowadays, some doctors and nutritionists encourage patients who have osteoporosis to eat a certain amount of ice cream everyday if they can't drink milk. They believe that calcium can be absorbed from ice cream like milk, but actually if we understand the above, then we should understand that ice cream is even worse than milk.

Modern people have a bad understanding of their diets. Most people like to eat acidic foods and this leads to a great loss of bone marrow in the human body. Test results show that if you take 02 individuals of similar bone tissue density and similarly diet habits, with one drinking a lot of milk and the other not drinking milk at all, then 02 - 03 years later their bone tissue density will differ. And, if one of them is a vegetarian and the other eats only meat and acidic foods there will be an even greater difference. The bone tissue density testing equipment used to measure this is a high technology product and it shouldn't tell a lie. When the bone tissue density is greatly reduced, it means you have osteoporosis. The less dense your bone tissue, the less elastic are the bones and this means when you fall, the bones are likely to break.

According to Japanese studies on bone fractures, the chances that a child today will break a bone is 06 times higher than in previous generations.

So, the simplest solution is to eat as many green vegetables as you can].

What happens in Bone Marrow Transplant ?

Doctors always say, "The bone marrow inside the human body will start regenerating 14 days after transplant". How true is this ?

Modern technologies cannot cure the skin on the legs or anywhere else, if they start to rot. When rotting starts, there is no way for doctors to make it regenerate. They can only cut it off to stop the rotting. If they can't regenerate the skin, then how is it possible for them to regenerate the bone marrow ? No one can see whether the bone marrow is regenerating or not because it is inside the body. If it is possible to regenerate the bone marrow, then why is it necessary for the transplant to take place ? Why not simply grow it in the first place ? If a woman has babies, the bone marrow in her hip bones are drawn out by the babies. This will lead to the loss of bone tissues and result in larger and fatter hips. If the bone marrow can regenerate itself, why should this happen ?

Perhaps, the final goal of modern medical science is to help the patients regain their healthy bodies and let them live healthy normal lives. If all it can do is to make the patient lives for a few more days, then what's the point of living a few more years in pain and illness ?

When a bone marrow tansplant patient is injected with the new bone marrow, the body will simply start to lose the bone marrow again. This is a result of the wrong diet and heavy medications. The amount of bone marrow injected is so little, how can it last for a long time in the patient's body ? Can the patient live for long after the transplant ?

There is an old saying "Saving a person's life is better than all other good deeds". All bone marrow donors have the good intention of saving someone. But, the cruel reality shows the patient will not benefit from the donated bone marrow and instead, the donor himself will become a weaker and easily get sick person. The production of human fluids (including all kinds of excretion), blood production, immune systems, self healing capabilities and the cancelling out of the body's acidic toxins, depend on the release of the bone marrow. When it runs out, that's when the person dies.

For e.g., during the final stages of a cancer patient's life, normal medication can no longer suppress their pain. Doctors start using morphine as painkillers. In the beginning, the morphine injection will start with one injection per month as this will be sufficient to kill the pain. But soon the doctor will need to inject one every week to stop the pain. The function of the morphine injection is to extract the bone marrow from the human skeletal network. The human skeletal network is just like a bank for the bone marrow. There is a saying too, "if you borrow something and do not return it, it will be more difficult if you want to borrow again". When such a large amount of marrow is borrowed everyday, the bone marrow will soon run out, and when it runs out, nothing will be able to kill the pain and the patient will be in so much pain that death eventually ends his life.

There was a case of a distant realtive who had reached the final stages of liver cancer with extension to the stomach. In the hospital, the daughter said to the doctor "no mater how much it will cost, make my mother lives for as many days as possible". So, this doctor gave her mother morphine injections everyday to keep her alive. After a few days, the doctor said to the daughter "we shouldn't inject any more, otherwise you will not get any bones after the cemation" !

Thus, how do we replenish the bone marrow bank ? What is the best diet ? Will bone marrow be put back ? To do these things you must change your diet to balance the damage done by our generally unhealthy environmental pollution and toxins in our body.

What is Shingles ? ('Snake' rashes, in Chinese)

Shingles (herpes zoster) is a viral infection of the nerve roots. It causes pain and often causes a rash on one side of the body, the left or right. The rash appears in a band, a strip, or a small area. Shingles is most common in older adults and people who have weak immune systems because of stress, injury, certain medicines, or other reasons. Most people who get shingles will get better and will not get it again

What causes shingles ?

Shingles occurs when the virus that causes chickenpox starts up again in your body. After you get better from chickenpox, the virus ”sleeps” (is dormant) in your nerve roots. In some people, it stays dormant forever. In others, the virus “wakes up” when disease, stress, or aging weakens the immune system. It is not clear why this happens. But after the virus becomes active again, it can only cause shingles, not chickenpox. You can't catch shingles from someone else who has shingles.

What are the symptoms ?

Shingles symptoms happen in stages. At first you may have a headache or be sensitive to light. You may also feel like you have the flu but not have a fever.

Later, you may feel itching, tingling, or pain in a certain area. That’s where a band, strip, or small area of rash may occur a few days later. The rash turns into clusters of blisters. The blisters fill with fluid and then crust over. It takes 2 to 4 weeks for the blisters to heal, and they may leave scars. Some people only get a mild rash, and some do not get a rash at all.

What are the causes ?

Shingles is a reactivation of the varicella-zoster virus, a type of herpes virus that causes chickenpox. After you have had chickenpox, the virus lies inactive in your nerve roots and remains inactive until, in some people, it flares up again. When the virus becomes active again, you get shingles instead of chickenpox.

Anyone who has had even a mild case of chickenpox can get shingles. People who have a weak immune system are vulnerable to reactivation of the virus that causes shingles. Many factors can weaken your immune system, including aging, injury, and illness. Some medicines slow down the immune system. For example, medicines that destroy cancer cells (chemotherapy) can interfere with the immune system.

Transmission :
Exposure to shingles will not cause you to get shingles. But if you have not had chickenpox and you are exposed to shingles, you can get chickenpox. Someone with shingles can potentially expose you to chickenpox if you come into contact with the fluid in the shingles rash blisters.

One study reports that the virus that causes shingles may be released into the air from shingles sores. Covering the shingles sores with a type of dressing that absorbs fluids and protects the sore (hydrocolloid dressing, such as DuoDerm) appears to effectively contain the virus.

Symptoms :
When the virus that causes chickenpox reactivates, it causes shingles. Early symptoms of shingles include headache, sensitivity to light, and flu-like symptoms without a fever. You may then feel itching, tingling, or pain where a band, strip, or small area of rash may appear several days or weeks later. A rash can appear anywhere on the body but will be on only one side of the body, the left or right. The rash will first form blisters, then scab over, and finally clear up over a few weeks. This band of pain and rash is the clearest sign of shingles.

The rash caused by shingles is more painful than itchy. The nerve roots that supply sensation to your skin run in pathways on each side of your body. When the virus becomes reactivated, it travels up the nerve roots to the area of skin supplied by those specific nerve roots. This is why the rash can wrap around either the left or right side of your body, usually from the middle of your back toward your chest. It can also appear on your face around one eye. It is possible to have more than one area of rash on your body.

Shingles develops in stages :

a) Prodromal stage (before the rash appears)

a.1) Pain, burning, tickling, tingling, and/or numbness occurs in the area around the affected nerves several days or weeks before a rash appears. The discomfort usually occurs on the chest or back, but it may occur on the abdomen, head, face, neck, or one arm or leg.

a.2) Flu-like symptoms (usually without a fever), such as chills, stomachache, or diarrhea, may develop just before or along with the start of the rash.

a.3) Swelling and tenderness of the lymph nodes may occur.

b) Active stage (rash and blisters appear)

b.1) A band, strip, or small area of rash appears. It can appear anywhere on the body but will be on only one side of the body, the left or right. Blisters will form. Fluid inside the blister is clear at first but may become cloudy after 3 to 4 days. A few people won't get a rash, or the rash will be mild.

b.2) A rash may occur on the forehead, cheek, nose, and around one eye (herpes zoster ophthalmicus), which may threaten your sight unless you get prompt treatment.

b.3) Pain, described as “piercing needles in the skin,” may accompany the skin rash.

b.4) Blisters may break open, ooze, and crust over in about 5 days. The rash heals in about 2 to 4 weeks, although some scars may remain.

c) Postherpetic neuralgia (chronic pain stage)
Postherpetic neuralgia is the most common complication of shingles. It lasts for at least 30 days and may continue for months to years. Symptoms are:

c.1) Aching, burning, stabbing pain in the area of the earlier shingles rash.

c.2) Persistent pain that may linger for years.

c.3) Extreme sensitivity to touch.

The pain associated with postherpetic neuralgia most commonly affects the forehead or chest, and it may make it difficult for the person to eat, sleep, and perform daily activities. It may also lead to depression.
Shingles may be confused with other conditions that cause similar symptoms of rash or pain, such as herpes simplex infection or appendicitis.

What are the reactions ?

Shingles is caused by the same virus that causes chickenpox. After an attack of chickenpox, the virus remains in the tissues in your nerves. As you get older, or if you have an illness or stress that weakens your immune system, the virus may reappear in the form of shingles.

You may first experience a headache, flu-like symptoms (usually without a fever), and sensitivity to light, followed by itching, tingling, or pain in the area where a rash may develop. The pain usually occurs several days or weeks before a rash appears on the left or right side of your body. The rash will be in a band, a strip, or a small area. Within 3 to 5 days, the rash turns into fluid-filled blisters that ooze and crust over. The rash heals in about 2 to 4 weeks, although you may have long-lasting scars.4 A few people won't get a rash, or the rash will be mild.

Most people who get shingles will not get the disease again.

Complications of shingles include :

1) Postherpetic neuralgia, which is pain that does not go away within 1 month. It may last for months or even years after shingles heals. Postherpetic neuralgia affects up to 10% to 15% of those who experience shingles.6 It is more common in people age 50 and older, and in people who have a weakened immune system due to another disease, such as diabetes or HIV infection. People who have severe pain and rash during shingles have an increased risk for postherpetic neuralgia.

2)Disseminated zoster, which is a blistery rash that spreads over a large portion of the body and can affect the heart, lungs, liver, pancreas, joints, and intestinal tract. Infection may spread to nerves that control movement, which may cause temporary weakness.

3) Cranial nerve complications. If shingles affects the nerves originating in the brain (cranial nerves), complications may include :

3.1) Inflammation, pain, and loss of feeling in one or both eyes. The infection may threaten your vision. A rash may appear on the side and tip of the nose (Hutchinson's sign).

3.2) Intense ear pain, a rash around the ear, mouth, face, neck, and scalp, and loss of movement in facial nerves (Ramsay Hunt syndrome). Other symptoms may include hearing loss, dizziness, and ringing in the ears. Loss of taste and dry mouth and eyes may also occur.

3.3) Inflammation, and possibly blockage, of blood vessels, which may lead to stroke.

4) Scarring and skin discoloration.

5) Bacterial infection of the blisters.

6) Muscle weakness in the area of the infected skin before, during, or after the episode of shingles.

Risks for developing shingles include:

* Having had chickenpox. You must have had chickenpox to get shingles.

* Being older than 50.

* Having a weakened immune system due to another disease, such as diabetes or HIV infection.

* Experiencing stress or trauma.

* Developing chickenpox prior to age 1.

* Having cancer or receiving treatment for cancer.

If a pregnant woman gets chickenpox, her baby has a high risk of developing shingles within his or her first 2 years of life.

Postherpetic neuralgia is a common complication of shingles that lasts for at least 30 days and may continue for months to years. If more than one of the following risk factors is present, your risk increases for postherpetic neuralgia :

a) Developing shingles after age 50

b) Having severe pain and rash during shingles

c) Being female

Call your health professional immediately if :

a) Any sign of shingles develops (such as pain or changes in vision) on or in the area of your forehead, nose, eye, or eyelid.

b) Any symptoms of shingles develop (such as headache, stiff neck, dizziness, weakness, hearing loss, or changes in your thinking and reasoning abilities) that affect your central nervous system.

c) Skin sores spread to parts of your body beyond the original area of the rash.

d) You think you have a bacterial skin infection in the same area as the shingles rash, or your rash has not healed in 2 to 4 weeks.

e) You develop pain in your face or are unable to move muscles in your face.
